This training course is suitable for stores persons, administration staff, stock pickers, forklift operators and drivers of unlicensed dangerous goods loads. It is intended for anyone working in the transport, warehousing, distribution and storage industries who may handle dangerous goods and/or hazardous substances or documentation for dangerous goods.

This course gives an introduction to hazardous/dangerous goods for handlers of dangerous goods and covers: 

  • Identification and classification of Dangerous and Hazardous Goods. 
  • Selection of handling and storage techniques. 
  • Handling Dangerous Goods. 
  • Preparing documentation relating to the transport of dangerous goods including 
The course is designed to meet workplace training obligations relating to Division 3, Clause 20 of the NSW Dangerous Goods (Road and Rail Transport) Regulation 2022.

Note: Completion of this Course will NOT authorise you to drive a vehicle carrying bulk dangerous goods – you will need to complete our Dangerous Goods Licence Course to obtain such a licence.

According to the Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods, anyone involved in the transportation, storage and handling of dangerous goods is required, by law, to undergo appropriate training.  In order to meet these requirements, we recommend that this Dangerous Goods Awareness course be undertaken every five (5) years. This timeframe is in line with the requirements of the ADG Code (7th edition) and the NSW Environmental Protection Agency, the licensing authority for Dangerous Goods Driver Licences in New South Wales.
